Jewish Mother, The

Ok don't understand all of the great reviews. My husband and I went to dinner last night at Jewish Mother based on positive reviews. We both ordered a cup of matzo ball soup. The soup had a decent base but the Matzo was as tough as baseball, the chicken was even tougher (which i really dont understand how that could happen?), and to top it off it was luke warm. My husband ordered their special of the day which was bbq ribs. It was probably the worst tasting ribs i have ever tried and one piece was so tough that you couldn't even cut with a knife and fork. I ordered the pastrami on ryeit was at best okbut by NO means would any Jewish family consider this worth trying a second time. The only item that was good was the onion rings. It's really a shame.

The Jewish Mother has been around for years. It has good food with a nice atmosphere. Definetly a place to go out to.

The Jewish Mother has been a great place to grab a bite to eat or catch a live show for years. They also used to offer special nights for teens under 18 who can't get into any other nighttime establishments in the area.

Maybe in its last days. Big plans for that block don't seem to include JM Still draws large crowds, but is dark, loud and food is so so.

Crazy place with funky music, great omlettes, interesting appetizers and a long history in the area. Serving all day with a different kind of crowd on any given day!

May be it was having family on the inside that turned me off, but it just isn't what it used to be. We used to love going there for the jazz bands - but then there were kids too. Try it if you wish. It may not be around much longer.

Very enjoyable for any meal. Dinner time or after there are bands to listen or avoid - depending on your interests in style and volume. Go there!

I have been several times and while they are not as good as they use to be it still draws a crowd and the sandwitches are bad.

I have eaten at the Jewish Mother numerous times. I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is casual and fun. Try their bloody mary's, they are outstanding!

We grabbed something here a few times on vacation. I liked the salads a lot and the sandwiches aren't bad.
